Studio Loft Redesign
- from a raw rural loft, to a fresh PNW living space -
Project Overview
In 2007, James Yanzick Construction transformed a square cinderblock mechanics shop into a modernized barn. He added a vaulted second story and expanded side storage areas for farm machinery and animal stalls.
In 2018, Cody Burchfield transformed the upper floor into a clean and open living space. An emphasis on natural light and airflow led to full glass doors on either end. On one end, it feels like a tree house. On the other end, the sunset viewing deck provides an expansive sensation. (Since the majority of the these photos have been posted, a safety railing has been added to the sleeping loft. It is slightly less aesthetic, but safer for all users!)
